Everything you create in Corvus is stored on your device. There are no user accounts and no servers of ours, and we do not collect your personal information.

Everything you add to Corvus, including the species you choose, your notes, your quick facts, and any photos, is stored only in the app's storage on your device. We do not have a server that holds a copy of your guide, and we cannot see what you write.
Because your content is stored on your device, deleting the app also deletes that content. Corvus does not currently offer accounts, cloud sync, or backup.
We do not collect or store your personal information. The app makes a small number of internet requests to do its job, described below.
Species search
When you search for a species, the text you type is sent to the iNaturalist API to find matching species and return their common and scientific names. No personal information is included.
Species photos from Wikipedia
If you choose to add a photo for a species from its Wikipedia article, the app requests that image from Wikimedia. This happens only when you ask for it. Photos you take or choose yourself are never uploaded and stay on your device.
Technical information
As with any app that connects to the internet, when Corvus contacts iNaturalist or Wikimedia your device's IP address is visible to those services as part of delivering the response. We do not receive, log, or store it.
Crash reports
If the app crashes, anonymised diagnostic data may be collected by Apple or Google through their standard platform tools. We do not add any analytics or crash-reporting tools of our own.

Because Corvus does not operate accounts or store personal data on our servers, there is no personal data held by us to retain or delete. Your species pages, notes, quick facts, and photos are stored on your device and remain under your control. You can remove them at any time by deleting individual pages or notes, or by deleting the app.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk if you believe your data has been handled improperly.
Corvus is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the app, please contact us and we will take steps to address it.
Corvus asks for access to your camera and photo library only so that you can add a photo to a species page. Photos you take or choose are stored on your device and are never uploaded to us. You can grant or revoke these permissions at any time in your device settings. If you decline them, the rest of the app still works.
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the date at the top of this page. For significant changes, we will notify users within the app. Continued use of Corvus after any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
